Rivers 2015: Kalabari reject zoning.

AHEAD of the 2015 general elections, the people of Kalabari Kingdom in Rivers State have dismissed the call for the next governor of the state to be elected based on ethnic zoning.
The Kalabari, who spoke under the auspices of Concerned Kalabari Citizens, disagreed with a statement credited to a political leader, Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe, that there was an agreement that the governorship position should be zoned to Kalabari ethnic group.
National Chairman of the group, Chief Odiari Princewill, who spoke with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday, challenged Sara-Igbe to produce any document to show the endorsement for the emergence of a governor based on ethnic consideration.
Princewill, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, explained that the party was interested in any candidate that would be able to deliver its manifesto, irrespective of the person’s ethnic nationality or senatorial district.
