Bonus Lan Holloway:There's no way that Manchester City are going to underestimate

GettyPrepared: Manuel Pellegrini will have his team ready to take on the Black Cats
Sunderland's fans still worship Bob Stokoe and his boys of 1973 for producing one of the greatest FA Cup Final shocks of all time.

So Gus Poyet and his players will be well aware that if they overcome the odds to beat Manchester City in the Capital One Cup Final today they will become instant legends on Wearside.

I still remember clearly the Ian Porterfield goal that beat mighty Leeds almost 41 years ago and the save from Jim Montgomery that is now part of Wembley folklore.

Can the Black Cats do it again?

Well the fact they have beaten City in four successive meetings at the Stadium of Light suggests they aren’t quite the underdogs that the Class of ’73 were when they played Don Revie’s Leeds.

But the fact that City will be returning to the scene of their own FA Cup Final surprise just seven months after being beaten by Wigan makes Sunderland’s task a whole lot harder.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men won’t want to be on the receiving end again, so there’s no way they will be underestimating their task.
