Centenary celebration:Nigeria is indivisible says Jonathan.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday at the centenary celebrations in Abuja said the video tribute show captured the strong existence of Nigeria as one strong, united and indivisible nation.
The President said this at the centenary multimedia and fireworks show.
He said the show was an indication of the essence of the Nigerian state.
”The multimedia show was conceived as one that will only guarantee a memorable and poignant experience of the 100 years of Nigeria’s existence,” Jonathan said.

The show depicts the Nigerian story, history and culture.

Manchester United's apologetic Robin van Persie insists THOSE comments weren't aimed at team-mates or David Moyes.

Genuinely shocked' star has pulled colleagues aside at training and assured them he WASN'T complaining they were getting in his way against Olympiakos
Robin van Persie has said sorry to his Manchester United teammates and claimed he was not criticising them in a post-match interview earlier this week.
The Dutch striker complained to a TV station from his homeland about fellow players running into areas where he was supposed to be during the Champions League shocker against Olympiakos.
The Old Trafford giants were poor as they lost the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday, and must overturn a 2-0 deficit in next month's return fixture at Old Trafford to reach the quarter-finals and keep their hopes of some silverware this season alive.
Van Persie has since pulled his colleagues aside at training to apologise for his remarks and claimed that he was talking about his own game rather than having a go at them - or their under-fire first-year manager David Moyes.
The comments had caused unrest in the champions' dressing room, and the 30-year-old was said to be ‘genuinely shocked’ that what he said had been made to sound like a self-centred moan.

Robin Thicke is 'looking forward to getting back' to work after split from Paula Patton

The Blurred Lines singer has thanked his fans for their support following his break-up from his wife earlier this week

Robin Thicke says he is "looking forward" to going back to work following his split from Paul Patton .
The Blurred Lines star and his wife announced their split on Monday and he cancelled two tour dates before the news was revealed - but now he wants to focus on his career.
In heartfelt message to his fans on his website, he thanked his fans for their "well wishes" during this difficult time.
He wrote: "I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days. My fans mean everything to me.
"I'm looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington, D.C. this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!"
Robin pulled out of scheduled concerts in Atlanta on Friday Orlando on Saturday and in North Carolina on Tuesday night , and originally tried to blame the sudden cancellations on his "voice".
He is expected to reschedule the shows for later this year.
A source previously claimed that the star is still hoping to convince Baggage Claim actress Paula, 38, that he can be a good husband and persuade her not to file for divorce.
The source added that the singer is also "really concerned" about their three-year-old son, Julian, and doesn't want him raised in two separate homes.

First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan has said that Nigerians must ensure that a significant percentage of the country’s young people, especially girls, should acquire university education. “There is a popular saying that if you educate a man, you educate a person, but if you educate a woman, you educate a nation,” she said during a visit to the University of Lagos, UNILAG, last weekend.
“Parents must pay adequate attention to the education and welfare of our children, because education is the key to human capital development and the basis for national development. This is an area that Mr. President and I are very passionate about, because we were once teachers ourselves,” she added

CBN Governor’s suspension: Court declines to re-instate Sanusi.

Suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s bid  to return to office suffered a setback,Wednesday as the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, dismissed an ex-parte motion that sought for his immediate reinstatement.
In a ruling, Wednesday, Justice Gabriel Kolawole, said it would not be in the interest of justice for him to grant such application without hearing from those that were dragged before the high court by the embattled CBN governor.
Consequently, Sanusi, was ordered to go and serve the relevant court processes on President Goodluck Jonathan, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police, who were all listed as defendants in the matter, even as the substantive suit was adjourned to March 12 for hearing.
Nevertheless, Justice Kolawole, maintained that should the court, at the conclusion of the matter, discover that the CBN governor was wrongfully suspended without recourse to the due process of the law, he said the court has the constitutional powers to not only void the suspension, but also order that he should return to office to perform his duties as the head of the apex bank.
