More than 300,000 children under the age of 5 die annually in Nigeria from malaria, the Malaria Action Programme for States has said.

Mr Dominic Usman, the organisation's Behavioural Change Communication Officer in Benue, provided this information at the ongoing 5th Benue State Council on Health meeting in Makurdi.

He added that the country recorded over 100 million clinical cases of the disease annually.
